Two New Paintings

Here's two of my most recently finished paintings

As I was loading my photos, and thinking this isn't much to write about, I then started thinking of the different ways and reasons we all create and post on our blogs, quite a few versions when you think about it...
I know for me I'm quite happy sharing new ideas, whether it be my artwork, Tony's newly created furniture, our markets, a naughty dog or something we've achieved around the house or garden...etc. etc. it's lovely to have comments left, well don't we all get a thrill from them (thanks to those who do) to me though that's not my sole purpose of creating a blog, I've had wonderful emails from so many people saying they just love reading the blogs and don't necessarily want to or know how to leave comments, sort of like flicking through a magazine, as long as I have interested people enjoying looking at my postings, it makes it all worth while....thanks so much whether you be bloggers or browsers..

Last new Christmas Designs for a little while

Hello All

Hope you've enjoyed your weekend

Here in Melbourne today it has rained very heavily all last night and most of today, we desperately need it. It's sort of like a long weekend for us here as it's our big Melbourne Cup Day on Tuesday, lots of people take the Monday off from work and make a 4 day weekend out of it.

The rain was a bit of a shame for all our events planned here in Mornington for the weekend, sorry to all the Mornington Race goers that missed out due to the races being cancelled

(sorry Ellie you didn't get to wear your lovely new outfit)

It was also too wet for us to sell at a market today, so I found myself at home fiddling around once again with some Christmas designs, I have to stop now, I think I have enough! I now need to get back to some serious painting, I must say I have loved getting into the Christmas spirit. Here's a few I've been working on over the past week

We live not far from a real Christmas Tree farm, you actually go out in a tractor and pick your live tree to be cut down. Ellie and I visited yesterday, they were having a massive sale of their excess stock, I bought some gold cherubs (photo above) you can see them hanging outside to dry I'm in the prcoess of painting them pink, then when dry I'll give them the aging/distressing treatment, a bit of fun as they are quite large and cost only 50 cents each

Above

are two of my mounted prints which I thought would make perfect hangers for Christmas stockings or any favourite Christmas decoration

We have the best scrap booking supply shop (well more like a big factory) in Mornington, you could honestly spend hours in there.

I'd already painted my original cup cake chrissy pudding so bought the lovely aged polka dot paper and some absolutely beautiful ribbon to hang my new creations from (see below)

Above
another finished project, once again I've somehow managed to collect another glass /cheese board dome, this one I've painted the base white and distressed, I was going to sell it....hmmm no I love it...better keep it for a bit longer!
i
I can't believe I've bought Guss a christmas toy!, we've taught him to put his paw on Santa to start him talking...this is Guss intrigued by Santa, his moe wiggles as he talks
Thanks so much for visiting

Roses & Mr Guss is Sulking

I'm sure not very exciting for some of you reading this but to me YES very exciting!
I've actually picked enough roses from my rose bushes to make a little display in a vase...
I've been feeding and looking after my rose bushes in a desperate effort to get that bunch of roses!
When I'm painting roses I absolutely have to have a live rose in front of me, one single rose will sometimes do for a whole painting as I turn and twist the poor little fresh rose into all sorts of positions

Below are my rambling roses in our garden, I have no trouble growing them, in fact they are overtaking our garden but I love them

They are fantastic as subjects when I'm painting my resting rose paintings

I also love them at Christmas time in amongst lots of Ivy and Christmas Decorations as a feature

Now here's my second part of this posting..... Guss, our Aussie Bulldog, I can't tell you what a cuddly whimp he is, the most gentle and loving dog you could ever meet. He really does think he's a person and likes to sleep up stairs all day. Well no! I think he should have a bit of fresh air, so I've been locking him outside during the day

This is the response I get from him, he just won't look at me because I won't let him inside!

Breaks my heart but he needs a bit of time outside....doesn't he?

I hope you don't think Guss is one of those big aggressive dogs, no he is a sooky la la that's for sure...even the cat scares him to death!
Thanks for visiting
Gail
