I picked this, what I think anyway, wonderful old Rustic Planter up for next to nothing on one of our Treasure Hunting Excursions. I can’t tell you how many times its been filled with various types of foliage and bits and pieces to brighten up a little corner or help celebrate a special occasion in our home
Yep, I’ve even used it as a subject in my last 2 original paintings
The painting above is available from my website here
The painting below is Sold
Fingers Crossed I find another little something Treasure Hunting to keep my creative juices flowing
Happy Weekend Everyone!

I can’t believe it’s nearly the beginning of Spring. I’ve quite enjoyed Winter this Year, my little Painting corner is very bright and light. Although I must say, I’m looking forward to watching the Flowers Blooming once the warmer weather comes.
I thought I’d share a painting I’ve just finished in anticipation - please click on the painting to view details

For ages and ages I’ve been wanting to once again paint with Oils. I will never ever consider making my Acrylic Paints redundant, but I’m so excited to have finally followed my dream of painting in Oils again….
I’m still a bit unsure of the drying time for my recently completed Oil Paintings I’m showing you below…..
As soon as they’re ready, I’ll have them listed on my website
Paintings in the photo below are already Sold!
Thank you so much for looking

Is it just me or have you noticed how things seem very Business Orientated on the Internet at the moment? and Yes: I’m probably guilty of it too BIG TIME!
What happened to the days when we used to post Family Photos up here, with no “Strings Attached” so as to speak ?
Today: We had a Family Gathering at our Place and I wanted to share this photo I took of my 2 Nieces and my Grandson……Just because I think they’re adorable!….No strings or links attached

Ornate frames are so hard to find lately, so I’ve decided to offer my Original Paintings on Gallery stretched Canvas.
I think they look fantastic hung on a wall grouped together or even displayed on quirky Easels, you could also easily have them framed.
I’m thrilled to say they’ve been selling well! Thankyou so much!

Another huge time gap between Blog Posts over here! Never mind though
We’ve been on the look out for an Outdoor table for ages and ages. We don’t have any cover in the spot we plan to plonk it….Open to the elements, including possums and all the other wild animals lurking around our yard at night. I did request Bunnings vouchers for Christmas last year, thinking I’d buy something from there, but the newish tables just didn’t seem right to us. So what’d ya know, we came across this one….for free! Unwanted and dumped by previous owner
Love the weathered paint! It fits in with our house to perfection!
Thinking we’ll get the odd comment which will go something like this:
“When are you going to sand the old paint off and repaint it”? ha ha!
Now for the chairs??….I bought stackable plastic ones from a Garage Sale for $6.00 the lot, Director’s Chair Covers from the Op Shop for another couple of $’s and there we have it. We may even find Quirkier chairs, but for now these ones are fine. Forgot to mention earlier how I spent my Bunnings Voucher: On a Gerni (high pressure water cleaner) which magically cleaned up the chairs and table.
Now to wait for Warm Summer Evenings to sit and enjoy!

Goodness gracious, I can’t believe how long it’s been since my last post.
I haven’t blogged for so long I’m having a bit of trouble getting this one to flow, if you know what I mean. Anyway here goes:
Our beautiful little Grandson Xavier is growing so fast, Tuesday is my babysitting day, I usually take a few photos of him on baby sitting day. He’s probably thinking…Oh no here she comes again with that Camera! I’ve recently started putting up the playpen as he’s getting very mobile and we have lots of steps in our house, as you can see below he seems to prefer to be on the outside of the cage!
Our shop “Second Hand Heaven” in Mornington is going along nicely, always a never ending job to find new and interesting stock, I think we have a great range at the moment though
Tony has quite a flair for his displays
I’ve been desperately trying to find medium sized ornate frames for customer requests….I’m not having much luck, so to my patiently waiting custom orders, I haven’t for one moment forgotten!
I have although been lucky finding a few interesting chippy old doors and window frames to revamp, this one has sold, but I have another larger version available on my website here
Thank you so much for coming over
until next time…..Gail

Hello Everyone and thanks for coming over.
Just thought I’d do a bit of an update on what’s happening in our little world down here.
I must confess, I’m addicted to “Aqua” at the moment.
I’m finding it so inspiring to work with. So yesterday I was painting some bits and pieces up for my website (you can see details for the hp tissue box here) and while I was at it, I did a bit of a make over with our old desky thingy in our bathroom and that’s something I haven’t done for quite sometime. I still need to replace the handle…but here it is:
The Mirror will be available from our Second Hand Heaven Shop if you’re interested.
We’ve also been busily working on a new affordable range of Quirky Door Hangers and Keep Sake Gift Tags, we would love you to come over and see the full range here…great gift or alternative to a gift card for under $10.00!
Last not but least!!….
On the Home Front:
Thanks for asking after our new Grandson Xavier, he’s such a little cutie pie, Guss & Xavier are fast becoming best Mates…of course always supervised
Until next time

Happy New Year Everyone! We were very boring and feel asleep in front of the TV at about 9 o'clock, the fireworks woke up us at midnight! We did have an excuse though, as poor old Guss has a nasty skin infection and was up with a very high fever the night before…Visits to the Vet & $500 later he’s slowly on the mend
We were using damp towels to try and keep him cool, the infection is also in his ears, we’re constantly shouting at him…poor old doggy.
Gosh but it’s hot down here in Melbourne today. I’m in the process of building up a collection of local beach photos, I had this idea they’d be great mounted on a standard size 8 x 10”, 3mm board, thought they might appeal to the Holiday Makers as mementoes or even thank you pressies for neighbours feeding the pets and of course they can easily be framed in a standard size frame
Anyway, it was way too hot today to walk around taking photos and I should imagine the beaches would be packed anyway.
I thought I’d share some of my scenes, I have a few available on our website here for anyone interested or in our Second Hand Heaven Shop at Mornington here
Here’s one I’ve framed.
Thanks for coming over….

I’m a little late this year starting work on my Beach themed treasures. I guess due to the fact we haven’t been selling at our usual Markets, cause we’ve been busily keeping up stocking our Shop and Website.
I do have a few Original Beach Paintings and other “One of a Kind” treasures nearly ready….and just to prove it, here they are:
My Original painting is nearly finished
Thanks also for your well wishes on the arrival of our darling little Grandson Xavier, I can’t believe he’s already 3 weeks Old! I make every excuse possible to pop down and see the precious little bundle, of course with Camera in hand..
poor little baby is probably thinking…
"Oh no here she is again with the Camera!”
~ Gail ~
We’ve had a very exciting end to October with the arrival of our Grandson,
he decided to enter into his new world on Sunday Night @ 11.59 pm, I’d been predicting he’d arrive on Sunday, but geez Xavier only one minute before midnight was leaving things a bit fine to prove my prediction right!

OK, one more brag photo before I go, of me having a cuddle
Tony & I were only just saying last night how grateful we are for our beautiful family…nope, not always Smooth sailing but realistically does anyone every have a Smooth Running Life?
Thanks so much for coming over to visit and to meet Xavier

Thanks for coming over and I hope all is well with you.
I’m reporting in with a link to a magazine who kindly included my artwork in their “Bed of Roses” promotional page
I was thrilled and was looking forward to the “Australian Homespun” September Issue coming out
I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed reading the magazine from cover to cover, I am not a practising Patch Worker, Appliqué or Stitcher, although I have dabbled before I started painting and time permitting would love to dabble again.
Can you spot my Artwork featured on page 11?
and see what I mean about the Magazine appealing to a wide range of readers…trust me it’s very very inspirational for decorating ideas!
Thank you Homespun!
